HOW IT WORKS:

The mobility passenger centers their wheelchair or scooter against the backrest and engages the automatic locking sequence by pressing an ADA-friendly button.

Once the vehicle stops at a destination, the button is pressed again to release the passenger so they can disembark.

REAR-FACING SECUREMENT
As the preferred securement method worldwide, rear-facing securement is now being widely adopted in North America. Providing enhanced head and neck protection, it is proven to be one of the safest securement solutions available.
DRIVER CONTROL
QUANTUM lets drivers stay focused on the road and gives them the flexibility to manage wheelchair securement from dashboard controls at their seat. If a passenger is unable to press the advanced CAPTRON™ button, drivers can easily activate QUANTUM to secure a wheelchair or return the station to neutral, allowing passengers to exit the vehicle.
SMART SENSE TECHNOLOGY
Not even the hustle and bustle of a city bus can stop QUANTUM. Advanced sensor technology allows QUANTUM to detect any obstacles that interfere with its path, whether it be a standing passenger, a stroller or backpack. After three failed securement attempts, QUANTUM waits for the operator or passenger to reinitiate activation.
INTEGRATED BACKRESTS
Realizing the necessity for variation, QUANTUM backrests come in sleek, neutral designs that allow for easy adaptation into all transit interiors. The international backrest features an elongated, narrow backrest, while the US version utilizes a shorter, wider backrest, as per ADA standards. The US version also includes an integrated lap and shoulder belt. These ultra-durable backrests feature heavy-duty vinyl and are built to withstand the wear and tear of consistent everyday use without sacrificing comfort.
SMART CAPTURE
Prior to departure, QUANTUM’S intelligent capture feature grips wheelchairs and scooters at just half the force, giving both driver and passenger the opportunity to make adjustments as needed.

Installation
What are the Electrical requirements of the QUANTUM?
- POWER: QUANTUM requires a fused circuit of minimum 12VDC at 20 amps or 24VDC at 10 amps measured at the QUANTUM.
- INTERLOCK: A brake or safety interlock signal is required. Note that the brake/safety interlock and ignition signals can be supplied in either 12 or 24 VDC with any installation.
Additional Electrical Notes: At constant voltages below 11.5v, the QUANTUM will go into a protective state. Additionally, QUANTUM features internal protection against power spikes and Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) to approximately 10,000 volts. All Electro-Mechanical Interference (EMI) is protected coming into the unit, and the QUANTUM does not discharge any EMI.

OFF: QUANTUM station User Interface is disabled (only driver can operate unit)
SECURE: Will initiate the wheelchair securement process
RELEASE: Will release wheelchair and bring the QUANTUM arms back to stowage
INTERLOCK NOTE: QUANTUM unit remains interlocked and can not be bypassed by the above controls. This means that drivers may not secure or release the QUANTUM arms when the vehicle is moving.
How much pressure is applied to a wheelchair?
- The Initial Squeeze is when the QUANTUM arms first come into contact with the wheeled mobility device. For safety purposes, the initial squeeze captures the chair at approximately 25 lbs. and alerts the driver that QUANTUM is prepared for full securement, allowing him time to ensure there are no concerns before proceeding.
- The Final Squeeze occurs when the driver acknowledges via the driver interface on his dashboard, moving the wheelchair pressure to approximately 50 lbs. of force. It’s important to note that if the driver does not acknowledge and starts to drive the bus, the Quantum will proceed with the Final Squeeze automatically to ensure the safety of the passenger.

- Preventative Maintenance: A Preventative Maintenance schedule includes a checklist for functional testing to be performed along with regular vehicle preventative maintenance schedules
- Arm Grips: The arm grips feature a very durable over-molded rubber. While we don’t anticipate normal wear and tear to cause any visible damage to the rubber, the design of the QUANTUM has anticipated field replacement of the grips and will be available if required.

Installation
Quelles sont les exigences électriques du QUANTUM?

Quelle pression est appliquée sur un fauteuil roulant?
- La compression initiale se produit lorsque les bras QUANTUM entrent en contact avec le dispositif roulant. Pour des raisons de sécurité, la compression initiale capture la chaise avec une pression d’environ 25 lb. et avertit le conducteur que QUANTUM est prêt pour une sécurisation complète, lui laissant le temps de s’assurer qu’il n’y a pas de problème avant de continuer.
- La compression finale se produit lorsque le conducteur accède à l’interface du conducteur sur son tableau de bord, ce qui fait passer la pression du fauteuil roulant à environ 50 lb. de force. Il est important de noter que si le conducteur ne répond pas et commence à conduire le bus, le Quantum procédera automatiquement à la compression finale pour assurer la sécurité du passager.

- Maintenance préventive: Un programme d’entretien préventif comprend une liste de contrôle pour les tests fonctionnels à effectuer lors de l’entretien régulier des véhicules.
- Poignées des bras: Les poignées sont dotées d’un caoutchouc surmoulé très résistant. Bien que nous n’anticipions pas d’usure normale causant des dommages visibles au caoutchouc, la conception du QUANTUM a prévu un remplacement des poignées et ceci est disponible si nécessaire.

FAHRERKONTROLLE

Die QUANTUM-Rückenlehnen werden in einem glatten, neutralen Design geliefert, das eine einfache Anpassung an die Innenausstattung aller Transiträume ermöglicht. Die internationale Ausstattung besteht aus einer länglichen, schmalen Rückenlehne, während die US-Version eine kürzere, breitere Rückenlehne nach ADA-Standards verwendet. Die US-Version verfügt zudem über einen integrierten Becken- und Schultergurt. WELCHE ELEKTRISCHEN ANFORDERUNGEN GEHEN MIT QUANTUM EINHER?
- LEISTUNG: QUANTUM erfordert einen abgesicherten Stromkreis von mindestens 12 VDC bei 20 Ampere oder 24 VDC bei 10 Ampere, gemessen am QUANTUM.
- VERRIEGELUNG: Ein Brems- oder Sicherheitsverriegelungssignal ist obligatorisch. Beachten Sie, dass die Bremsen-/Sicherheitsverriegelungs- und Zündsignale bei jeder Installation in 12 oder 24 VDC bereitgestellt werden können.

- Der Anfangsdruck geschieht, wenn die QUANTUM-Arme zum ersten Mal mit der Mobilitätshilfe auf Rädern in Berührung kommen. Aus Sicherheitsgründen fängt der Anfangsdruck den Stuhl bei ungefähr 25 Pfund (11,3 kg) ab und weist den Fahrer darauf hin, dass QUANTUM für die vollständige Sicherung bereit ist, sodass dem Fahrer Zeit bleibt, sicherzustellen, dass es keine Bedenken gibt, bevor er weiter macht.
- Der Abschlussdruck wird erreicht, wenn der Fahrer diesen über die Fahrerschnittstelle auf seinem Armaturenbrett bestätigt, was den Rollstuhldruck auf ungefähr 50 Pfund erhöht. Es ist wichtig zu beachten, dass, falls der Fahrer nicht bestätigt und damit beginnt, den Bus zu fahren, der QUANTUM automatisch mit dem Abschlussdruck fortfahren wird, um die Sicherheit des Fahrgastes zu gewährleisten.

REAR-FACING SECUREMENT
As the preferred securement method worldwide, rear-facing securement is now being widely adopted in North America. Providing enhanced head and neck protection, it is proven to be one of the safest securement solutions available.
DRIVER CONTROL
QUANTUM lets drivers stay focused on the road and gives them the flexibility to manage wheelchair securement from dashboard controls at their seat. If a passenger is unable to press the advanced CAPTRON™ button, drivers can easily activate QUANTUM to secure a wheelchair or return the station to neutral, allowing passengers to exit the vehicle.
SMART SENSE TECHNOLOGY
Not even the hustle and bustle of a city bus can stop QUANTUM. Advanced sensor technology allows QUANTUM to detect any obstacles that interfere with its path, whether it be a standing passenger, a stroller or backpack. After three failed securement attempts, QUANTUM waits for the operator or passenger to reinitiate activation.
INTEGRATED BACKRESTS
Realizing the necessity for variation, QUANTUM backrests come in sleek, neutral designs that allow for easy adaptation into all transit interiors. The international backrest features an elongated, narrow backrest, while the US version utilizes a shorter, wider backrest, as per ADA standards. The US version also includes an integrated lap and shoulder belt. These ultra-durable backrests feature heavy-duty vinyl and are built to withstand the wear and tear of consistent everyday use without sacrificing comfort.
SMART CAPTURE
Prior to departure, QUANTUM’S intelligent capture feature grips wheelchairs and scooters at just half the force, giving both driver and passenger the opportunity to make adjustments as needed.

Installation
What are the Electrical requirements of the QUANTUM?
- POWER: QUANTUM requires a fused circuit of minimum 12VDC at 20 amps or 24VDC at 10 amps measured at the QUANTUM.
- INTERLOCK: A brake or safety interlock signal is required. Note that the brake/safety interlock and ignition signals can be supplied in either 12 or 24 VDC with any installation.
Additional Electrical Notes: At constant voltages below 11.5v, the QUANTUM will go into a protective state. Additionally, QUANTUM features internal protection against power spikes and Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) to approximately 10,000 volts. All Electro-Mechanical Interference (EMI) is protected coming into the unit, and the QUANTUM does not discharge any EMI.

SECURE: Will initiate the wheelchair securement process
RELEASE: Will release wheelchair and bring the QUANTUM arms back to stowage
INTERLOCK NOTE: QUANTUM unit remains interlocked and can not be bypassed by the above controls. This means that drivers may not secure or release the QUANTUM arms when the vehicle is moving.
How much pressure is applied to a wheelchair?
- The Initial Squeeze is when the QUANTUM arms first come into contact with the wheeled mobility device. For safety purposes, the initial squeeze captures the chair at approximately 25 lbs. and alerts the driver that QUANTUM is prepared for full securement, allowing him time to ensure there are no concerns before proceeding.
- The Final Squeeze occurs when the driver acknowledges via the driver interface on his dashboard, moving the wheelchair pressure to approximately 50 lbs. of force. It’s important to note that if the driver does not acknowledge and starts to drive the bus, the Quantum will proceed with the Final Squeeze automatically to ensure the safety of the passenger.

- Arm Grips: The arm grips feature a very durable over-molded rubber. While we don’t anticipate normal wear and tear to cause any visible damage to the rubber, the design of the QUANTUM has anticipated field replacement of the grips and will be available if required.

¿CUÁLES SON LOS REQUISITOS ELÉCTRICOS DE QUANTUM?

As the preferred securement method worldwide, rear-facing securement is now being widely adopted in North America. Providing enhanced head and neck protection, it is proven to be one of the safest securement solutions available.
DRIVER CONTROL
QUANTUM lets drivers stay focused on the road and gives them the flexibility to manage wheelchair securement from dashboard controls at their seat. If a passenger is unable to press the advanced CAPTRON™ button, drivers can easily activate QUANTUM to secure a wheelchair or return the station to neutral, allowing passengers to exit the vehicle.
SMART SENSE TECHNOLOGY
Not even the hustle and bustle of a city bus can stop QUANTUM. Advanced sensor technology allows QUANTUM to detect any obstacles that interfere with its path, whether it be a standing passenger, a stroller or backpack. After three failed securement attempts, QUANTUM waits for the operator or passenger to reinitiate activation.
INTEGRATED BACKRESTS
Realizing the necessity for variation, QUANTUM backrests come in sleek, neutral designs that allow for easy adaptation into all transit interiors. Installation
What are the Electrical requirements of the QUANTUM?
- POWER: QUANTUM requires a fused circuit of minimum 12VDC at 20 amps or 24VDC at 10 amps measured at the QUANTUM.
- INTERLOCK: A brake or safety interlock signal is required. Note that the brake/safety interlock and ignition signals can be supplied in either 12 or 24 VDC with any installation.
Additional Electrical Notes: At constant voltages below 11.5v, the QUANTUM will go into a protective state. Additionally, QUANTUM features internal protection against power spikes and Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) to approximately 10,000 volts. All Electro-Mechanical Interference (EMI) is protected coming into the unit, and the QUANTUM does not discharge any EMI.

INTERLOCK NOTE: QUANTUM unit remains interlocked and can not be bypassed by the above controls. This means that drivers may not secure or release the QUANTUM arms when the vehicle is moving.
How much pressure is applied to a wheelchair?
- The Initial Squeeze is when the QUANTUM arms first come into contact with the wheeled mobility device. For safety purposes, the initial squeeze captures the chair at approximately 25 lbs. and alerts the driver that QUANTUM is prepared for full securement, allowing him time to ensure there are no concerns before proceeding.
- The Final Squeeze occurs when the driver acknowledges via the driver interface on his dashboard, moving the wheelchair pressure to approximately 50 lbs. of force. It’s important to note that if the driver does not acknowledge and starts to drive the bus, the Quantum will proceed with the Final Squeeze automatically to ensure the safety of the passenger.

ENERGIA: QUANTUM requer um circuito fundido com mínimo de 12VDC a 20 amperes ou de 24VDC a 10 amperes medidos no QUANTUM.
INTERLOCK: Um freio ou sinal de trava de segurança é requerido. Note que ambos os sinais, assim como os de ignição, podem ser alimentados com 12 ou 24 VDC com qualquer instalação.

INSTALACIÓN
¿CUÁLES SON LOS REQUISITOS ELÉCTRICOS DE QUANTUM?
- POTENCIA: QUANTUM requiere un circuito con fusible con un mínimo de 12 VCC a 20 o 24 VCC a 10 A de medición en QUANTUM.
- ENCLAVAMIENTO: Se requiere una señal de freno o de enclavamiento de seguridad. Tenga en cuenta que la señalización de freno/enclavamiento de seguridad y de arranque se pueden suministrar en 12 o 24 VCC con cualquier instalación.
Nota eléctrica adicional: A voltajes constantes por debajo de 11,5 V, QUANTUM entrará en estado de protección. Además, QUANTUM cuenta con protección una interna contra picos de potencia y descarga electrostática (ESD) hasta aproximadamente 10 000 voltios. Todas las interferencias electromecánicas (IEM) están protegidas en la entrada de la unidad y QUANTUM no descarga ninguna IEM.

OFF: Desactiva la interfaz de usuario de la estación QUANTUM (solo el conductor puede operar la unidad).
SECURE: Inicia el proceso de aseguramiento de la silla de ruedas
RELEASE: Libera la silla de ruedas y devuelve los brazos de QUANTUM a su posición de reposo.
NOTA SOBRE EL ENCLAVAMIENTO: La unidad QUANTUM permanece en enclavamiento y no puede ser anulada por los controles anteriores. Esto significa que el conductor no puede asegurar o liberar los brazos de QUANTUM mientras el vehículo está en movimiento.
¿CUÁNTA PRESIÓN SE APLICA A LA SILLA DE RUEDAS?
- El apriete inicial tiene lugar cuando los brazos de QUANTUM establecen un primer contacto con el dispositivo de movilidad con ruedas. Por razones de seguridad, la compresión inicial captura la silla a aproximadamente 25 lb (11 kg) y alerta al conductor de que QUANTUM está listo para un aseguramiento total, lo que le da tiempo de asegurarse de que no existan problemas antes de continuar.
- El apriete final se produce cuando el conductor da su aprobación a través de la interfaz de conductor de su tablero, llevando la presión de la silla de ruedas a una fuerza de aproximadamente 50 lb (22 kg). Es importante tener en cuenta que si el conductor no da su aprobación y pone en marcha el autobús, QUANTUM procederá a aplicar automáticamente el apriete final para garantizar la seguridad del pasajero.

- Mantenimiento preventivo: Ala programación de mantenimiento preventivo incluye una lista de verificación para realizar pruebas de funcionamiento, de acuerdo con la programación regular de mantenimiento preventivo del vehículo.
- Agarres de brazo: los agarres de brazo disponen de una goma sobremoldeada de gran duración. Si bien no tenemos previstos daños y desgaste visibles en la goma, el diseño de QUANTUM prevé la sustitución de los agarres, que están disponibles en caso necesario.
